Another weird face and Avery has his first try at using digital editing

So, growing up I was very interested in art (not so much art instruction as you may tell from my work, I like figuring out techiques through practice and observation over formal instruction).

When I got to highschool I became involved in Education for the Arts, which is a program that connects students with resources from a network of schools and educators, to learn and practice artistic pursuits.

I loved using the computers and digital editing software my family couldnt afford.

Flash forward to today, where most phones and tablets can run fairly powerful editing suites and almost everything has effective, easy to use, free alternatives.

So, not wanting my son to squander this opprotunity I like to show him how to use this stuff and help him when he wants to try and edit something.

Here is the original sketch I made for us to mess with in the editor.

I took this under a blacklight so I could show him how adjusting the colors settings can change the picture.

Next, I showed him some effects. Below is what happened when I edited the picture to make it look like I had taken the picture under normal light.

And finally, here is Avery's edits to the original picture. He said he made it look like Cthulu drew it.
