Some doodle

Just some weirdo in the desert or something.

I wasn't really going in with anything in mind when I set out.

Warhammer 40k - Orkz in action

Found this on my phone. Most of these models have been reworked since.

The gold warbikes were an ebay purchase and the original owner just painted them entirely gold and called it good, which lead to me buying them on the super cheap.

You can see I was in the early stages of repainting them in this picture.

This was turn 1 of a 40k battle. I didn't paint the rhino (blue tank if you're a pleb).

Malcom, staff manager to The Batman

Another sketch of Batman's support staff that I made up.

Back to School Doodles

Just some dumb crap I drew at the office.

Its dumb because we're the picture on the right.

The jetpack industry needs to get on it

Hiding More Stuff in Averys sketchbook

Desk Reminders

This grumpy executive looking dude is gonna remind me to fill out my work tracker.

Enjoy my cubicle art.

8am Donna *NSFW, on account of my potty mouth*

This is my attempt at some sort of humor comic, to liven up my pictures of sad office people.

I don't hate working in an office by the way. I like working in an office, actually.

Anyway work humor.

Also, I don't know Donna and have no idea if she is indeed too much at 8am.

This isn't about you, Donna.

Another Doodle of Some Goon

I do alot of these while reading or watching presentations for class.

I started with the eyes and then built it out from there. I didn't have anything in mind when I started drawing.

Teeth are a bit goofy (well, its all goofy), but I like this one.

Some weird sinister looking old man

I've been doodling this guy while I'm listening to stuff.

Still working on him and I dont really know what kind of scene to put him into.

Encouragment from the Late Wilford Brimly

The other night, or at the time this posts it will be a few weeks ago, I was cramming for a final and my wife was doing a brutal 12 hour shift in the emergency room.

We were both stressed and far too awake for reasonable people at that late hour.

We needed some words of encouragement and kindness from someone, but at 2:30 in the AM, voices of encouragment are sparse.

Thankfully, Wilford Brimly visited me in a vision and this what he said.

I realize now, that Wilford is still alive, but maybe this is some time traveling specter of Wilford Brimley, whose name I now know how to spell.

Averys Art Progression

My little dude has come along way.

The picture on the top of his tray is from his kindergarden art

The bottom he drew with me tonight.

The Batcountant

I drew this while watching Shazam! with my family.

Happy Monday!

Start your week with a depression doodle

Maddness, Misdeeds, and Villainy Series: The Cultists

Some terrible chaos cult up to misdeeds and villainy.

I like that it became more disturbing the more I added effects.

Here's the untouched original

Inspiration

Yo, you can get through whatever today.

Look at this guy.

Hung over as shit on Monday.

His boss called in, now he has to run the morning team meeting.

It's gonna blow.

Sure, he went out and partied on a school night, but just look at him now.

Half alive, reeking of taco bell, cheap beer, and you suspect that faint smell on his jacket might be marijauna smoke.

Remember, all of these smells are coming through an overpowering amount of axe body spary that was applied in a desperate fashion.

Yet, here he is.

Doing the damn thing.

You can do it too.

Whatever it is.

Sad Office Person

Another work doodle that makes it look like I draw these because I hate working.

I dunno I like drawing sad people.

Avery Art: I brought this on myself

If I didn't draw weird monsters, Avery probably wouldn't either.

That said, he's damn good at it.

My 7 year old is metal af

Another weird face and Avery has his first try at using digital editing

So, growing up I was very interested in art (not so much art instruction as you may tell from my work, I like figuring out techiques through practice and observation over formal instruction).

When I got to highschool I became involved in Education for the Arts, which is a program that connects students with resources from a network of schools and educators, to learn and practice artistic pursuits.

I loved using the computers and digital editing software my family couldnt afford.

Flash forward to today, where most phones and tablets can run fairly powerful editing suites and almost everything has effective, easy to use, free alternatives.

So, not wanting my son to squander this opprotunity I like to show him how to use this stuff and help him when he wants to try and edit something.

Here is the original sketch I made for us to mess with in the editor.

I took this under a blacklight so I could show him how adjusting the colors settings can change the picture.

Next, I showed him some effects. Below is what happened when I edited the picture to make it look like I had taken the picture under normal light.

And finally, here is Avery's edits to the original picture. He said he made it look like Cthulu drew it.

Sketch A Day: Carnival

Did this several weeks ago, thought I had posted it but I dont see it.

Terror Doodle

I dunno some scared person I guess.

I was just practicing drawing arms and hands, then this happened.

Wounded Archer

Did this tonight.

I had some pictures of it while in progress but accidentally deleted them.

Cow-Poke Doodle

I dunno, I'm procrastinating.

Hotel Note

Going through some Gen Con photos and found this.

This weeks counting doodles

Every week if I filled out my tracking notecards from the previous week, I make new dumb doodles to help me count.

Here is this week's.

A present for my mom

A few years ago when I decided to do more painting I had done several pieces to give away as presents.

I was going for something a bit surreal. Around this time I had done a wargaming board of a space scene that turned out better than I had expected and I was doing alot of space scenes at the time.

My Mom loved it though and its still hanging up at her place.

I'm a bit critical of myself and I see it and think "I know I could have done better", but as you maybe aware, our flaws are less visable to our parents then they are to ourselves.

On the game board I did the nebulas were more translucent due to the paints I was using at the time.

This was acrylics and water was used to thin the paint.

More gems from the old notepad.

I have no idea what was going on during this phase of my life.
