This post is scheduled to go live while I'm there, so I'm probably there having a great time, future me is a lucky guy.
To kick off the best four days in gaming, here is the mini that represented every fighter or barbarian I ran for years.
Not sure when I painted this, early 2000s, probably.
I do remember this being one of the first ones I painted that I was really proud of.
I've learned alot about painting minature since but this still looks pretty decent, at least I think so.
Its worth pointing out, GenCon is one of the largest gaming conventions in the United States.
Alot of painting techniques I've learned were learned at seminars I attended at GenCon, facilitaed by award wininning painters.
If minature painting intrests you and you find yourself at a con where experts are offering workshops, I highly encourage it.
I went in 2011 for the first time and took a basics workshop and another focused on blood and weathering effects and it changed the game for me.
Happy gaming to you and yours.
