Dungeons and Dragons - Barbarian Minature

At the time of writing this I am not at GenCon.
This post is scheduled to go live while I'm there, so I'm probably there having a great time, future me is a lucky guy.

To kick off the best four days in gaming, here is the mini that represented every fighter or barbarian I ran for years.

Not sure when I painted this, early 2000s, probably.

I do remember this being one of the first ones I painted that I was really proud of.

I've learned alot about painting minature since but this still looks pretty decent, at least I think so.

Its worth pointing out, GenCon is one of the largest gaming conventions in the United States.

Alot of painting techniques I've learned were learned at seminars I attended at GenCon, facilitaed by award wininning painters.

If minature painting intrests you and you find yourself at a con where experts are offering workshops, I highly encourage it.

I went in 2011 for the first time and took a basics workshop and another focused on blood and weathering effects and it changed the game for me.

Happy gaming to you and yours.

Old doodles

I was rummaging through our craft room in the basement and this fell out of a sketch pad.

I think this was sometime in 2018 based on some of the other doodles but who the hell knows, not me.

My wife says this is her and our son

I just wanted to make weird goblin people.

My next character

I'm packing up for Gen Con 2019 and I'm so pumped for it I drew the D&D character I have yet to roll up.

Gonna print this bad boys and give out headshots to unsuspecting GMs.d

Avery and Dad, shared canvas sketch

Avery and I like to share one piece of paper and draw a scene together.

This is what happened...

Mondays...

Drew this while watching Big Brother the other night.

Wargaming - Space Gaming Board

I painted up these two boards back in 2015 or 2016.

A good deal of the paints were intended for painting pastic miniatures.

Wargaming-More 40k Orkz

Here are a few more Orcs I painted in the long long ago.

I painted these I think in 2017. Dont play so many mini war games as much these days but still love army painting.

Sketch A Day - Run

I did two for this one.

Drew it in my car so if it looks like crap, cut me some slack.

Madmen Villainy and Misdeeds: "But he didn't say please", a very special boy visits the playground

Caught a bit of the spiral notebook, whatever deal with it.

The idea here is the boy floating in the air has some sort of psychokinetic powers, allowing him to more effectively suggest to his friends and peers that they need to improve their sharing and communication skills.

Better share the bucket with your friend floating up in the air there, better cough up that bucket Jeff.

Madmen, Villainy, and Misdeeds Series: The Shoplifter

Run free my children, run free and do crimes.

Life is too short to not cause at least a bit of mischief.

Drew this on lunch so enjoy.

Update to this post:

I'm going to try and group my pictures of criminals, cultists, and other terribleness into a series. Maybe I'll make a big collage of people being terrible and becoming literal monsters when I'm done.

If I ever get done, because I like drawing crazy people too much.

Sketch A Day - Toxic

This is another I did on a sketch pad with inks then played with the settings in photo editor

Doodle Party 7/20/19

My buddy, Garth, sketched up some sweet nerd refrences.

By Garth

Doodling during D&D

I play in a bi-weekly D&D game over discord and roll20.

Its a really good time but sometimes you got some downtime, so I drew these little dudes.

Not quite quitting time

He can leave if he has sick time left

Questionable Advice

But also true.

Wargaming- Warhammer 40k Orkz

Painted 40k Orc. This 2017 I think. I still have models to paint from this Army

Atomic Joe

This is Atomic Joe, he's mutated into some sort of kafkaesque monstrosity.

I drew this like a few weeks ago or something.

And I thought I messed this one up

Then I edited the crap out of it.

More 7/20/19 Doodle Party

My friend's daughter, Adela, drew this for our family.

It now lives on my fridge.

This is by Adela

The Amazing Frog Man

I did not set out to create a frog based super hero.

I was gonna try and make Frog from Chrono Trigger fan art and then everything just went all to hell.

Sketch A Day Chef

Just gonna capitalize on the hype here.

Gotta farm those little hearts on this sketch a day thing.

If you scream at call center employees...

If you don't know, I work for a bank.
I have since escaped the call center and now I work as a team leader on the operations side of the bank, so I don't see as much customer drama anymore and sometimes I miss it.

This is another doodle pulled from an old work notepad I found while working in my garage.

I do remember taking a call about a declined debit card transaction for a security hold but the client was livid as if this was some personal decision that was made about the client and not that the activity was out of the norm for her.

I remembered sketching up what I thought she thought was happening.

I had to throw some effects on to brighten it up and make it easier to read.

Doodle Party 7/20/19

After our friend's daughter's birthday party, some friends came over and we ended up all just sitting around doodling and talking.

Over the next few days I'll post everything that was left on the table.

Mrs. McDuder doodled these up

Warhammer 40k Space Marines

I painted these dudes back in 2011

40 Minute Bathroom Break: The Movie

I found this notepad in my garage from when I worked in a call center.

I'm not sure what happened that day to make me draw such a thing.

Camp Chef

I'm just up late, sketching this cool guy grilling at camp.

Enjoy.

Sketch A Day - Bell

Another Sketch A Day prompt.

Trying to play with colors a bit

Hiding things in Avery's sketchbook

Just going through some old things I made, found this stuff and was like, "oh, there's a low effort blog post."

Weird stuff I drew in my son's sketch book while he was asleep.

Sketch A Day - Medicine

Sketch a day prompt was medicine. 7/19/19

More doodles!

My house is littered with sketch books containing similar nonsense.

Some doodles to start

Here are some things I drew over the last few days.

Trying some new pens
